Second part of the Budget session of Parliament will resume from 13th March. after a month-long break during which the standing committees scrutinised the Budget proposals of the respective ministries. Several important legislations will be taken up during this session which will conclude on 6th April. The first half of the Budget Session had started on 31st January with President Droupadi Murmu’s first address to the joint sitting of the both Houses, followed by the presentation of Budget and discussions on these two items. The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha could utilise 82% and 63% of its allotted time in the first half of the Budget session. Both presiding officers — Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Rajya Sabha chairman Dhankhar have expressed their concern on several occasions on the issue of disruption of house proceedings.
