Q.1 b) The Earth Day is celebrated annually on April 22, to sensitise people to protect the environment, restore damaged ecosystems and live a more sustainable life.Earth Day has been celebrated since 1970. It was first observed in the United States, when over 20 million people protested against the 1969 Santa Barbara oil spill. In 2009, the United Nations designated April 22 as ‘International Mother Earth Day’. This year, the theme is ‘Invest In Our Planet’.
